We manufacture out of Bali’s only solar-powered swimwear factory, so your products are made naturally powered from sunshine. On very sunny days (the sun is strong at the equator) we send some of that power back to the power grid, and on cloudy days we bring that power back in to make more products.
We give our customers the very best sustainable options. The majority of our products are made using recycled fabrics such as Italian Carvico ECONYL® (made partly from ocean waste) or American REPREVE® (made from plastic bottles). And aside from fabrics, we make all of our fabric prints using OEKO-TEX® certified eco ink. Printing is done 100% in-house to avoid unnecessary shipping from third party suppliers at other locations or countries. We follow the same philosophy for everything we do, and beside the garments we produce most of labelling and packaging in-house as well where we can. And with that, we offer sustainable accessories such as biodegradable hygiene liners, tapioca packaging bags and a number of other options that you can choose from to truly make your brand sustainable and stand out.
We also automatically donate proceeds from every bikini, design and starter kit that you order with us to grassroots organisations that support the environment, women’s access to education and those in need. And we have also implemented business development and hiring practices that raise the standards for women, health and income in our industry.

ROLE Foundation run a zero waste facility and environmental development programs in Bali. Their vision supports zero waste to oceans, sustainable businesses for coastal communities, and through BALI WISE – women’s business education and development. They also regularly educate our staff on how to keep the environment in mind, around waste management and more. Together we have succeeded in banning plastic water bottles on site! In 2019 Bali Swim was also the main sponsor for ROLE’s ‘Zero Waste to Oceans Conference’. You can read more about that here. If you are visiting Bali we definitely recommend a visit! We far exceed minimum labour standards in our business, production and sourcing practices. All staff are paid above award wages at up to three times the standard; they negotiate their own contracts and salaries. Everyone is provided with comprehensive health insurance for themselves and their family and are paid an extra month of salary annually. Working hours are less than 40 hours per week, meal allowance is included and any overtime (voluntary) is paid accordingly. All according to Indonesian Manpower regulation. We also have a profit sharing scheme that is paid annually, of which staff at all levels are included. We pride ourselves in ongoing worker engagement in business development and decision making; and provide opportunities in worker training, capacity building and personal development. Business English training by EF is also offered for free on a regular basis. We also arrange free Zumba dancing 💃 and soccer practice ⚽️ for all our staff who would like to join. They are two very popular weekly events – and we’ve got some serious talents amongst us.
